I had one of the best photo shoots of my life the night I shot this picture. I was alone, but it was a wicked fun night as I was exploring and shooting pictures of the otherworldly landscape. The weather, landscape and the atmosphere was truly inspiring. There is a little of lense distortion, but it does actually work for the picture here IMO. Long exposure, bracketed (2), blended in PS, usm.

Beautiful

Perspective and colours are just great. Nothing else to add here... :)

Stunning shot. I really like the hint of colour at the horizon, the difference between the mirror like tidal pool and the almost cloudlike effect of the sea. At first I thought it was actually a shot taken above the cloud line.

Truly beautiful; I love the way your eye is drawn inwards towards the horizon and the otherworldly mist! WOW!

great capture - looks like the sky is going on and on forever!
beautiful colors and great long exposure (that's where I am always running into problems...)

Again I think that's it a bit too much of everything. Would love to see a more tight cut around the focuspoint.

Again, I'm happy that you care, and your input is welcome because it forces me to think even more about how I make my pictures. However, not to sound defensive, but the whole point of this photo IS its wide-angled composition. To get everything that I wanted into it I literally spent this picture more than an hour alone (I'm not kidding here) to very carefully compose and balance it so that I was sure to get everything right, it's not like this was randomly fired on automatic. The details and "fan" line-patterns from horizontal to diagonal in the front, the still water pond in contrast to the long exposure cloudy waves, the shoreline from close to distant, the charismatic big rock with a hint of a small creature on it, the distant rock formations and the sunset color transitions, these were all aspects I was aware of and something I was trying to balance when I set up the shot. I can't imagine how I could've done it differently. And speaking of which; As with "Serenity Mirrored" I also did different variations of the scene, and closer-up shots like you're suggesting, and trust me; they didn't work as well, and that's why this version was submitted instead.

Thanks :)
